WorldWide HealthStaff Associates Ltd. is under contract by several national pharmacy chains, independent pharmacies and hospitals to recruit international pharmacist candidates. WorldWide Healthstaff Associates Ltd. will provide guidance to pharmacist candidates at every step of the licensure, employment, immigration and relocation processes. WWHSA does not charge candidates for these services as the international recruitment services are funded by employers under contract. The pharmacist positions are mainly in Western Canada (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia). The job functions are typical for community (retail), or hospital staff pharmacists and include filling prescriptions, checking technicians work, patient counselling and liasion with other health professionals. The profession is rapidly evolving and pharmacists are now able to provide some diagnostic and prescribing functions after additional training and certification. Your qualification: University degree in pharmacy All community and hospital pharmacies use computer systems. Training on the specific system in use is provided during internship or orientation. To qualify for licensure, international pharmacists must have their qualifications validated by the national Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC), pass the PEBC Evaluating Exam (available in Canada or London, England) and PEBC Qualifying Examinations available in Canada. Candidates must also pass a standardised English (or French) test, and complete an internship program (provided by the employer) prior to licensure. Condition of contract: Permanent position under minimum 2 year local contract. Extension is possible. Salary/wages Staff pharmacist salaries vary by employer and location and are typically in the $45 -$55/hour (Canadian) range or approximately $100,000 per annum plus benefits.
