Heavy Equipment Operators (m/f) for Canada (Excavator, Dozer, Scraper, Front End Loader, Grader and Rock Truck Drivers) General Contractor- Heavy Construction Company. Specializing in Earthworks (Road building) and water/sewer construction. Job Location: Calgary, Alberta Canada Job Description Applicants who have experience in either commercial water/sewer pipe installation or road construction would be considered an asset. Applicants will be working outdoors on construction sites using a variety of attachments to dig trenches, load heavy materials, back-fill excavations and scoop and dump materials. Fin grading and finishing, sloping and banking and laying large diameter pipe. Also will be responsible for pre-operational checks on equipment. Must be able to follow directions, be punctual, reliable and hard working. Be able to handle heavy loads, dig, have manual dexterity and perform physically demanding work. Must have good vision and depth awareness and excellent eye and hand/foot co-ordination, be able to pay attention to details. Must be able to operate one or more of the following: Excavator, Dozer, Scraper, Front End Loader, Grader or Rock Truck. Applicants Profile Education: No formal education is required. High School (or equivalent) considered an asset. Work experience: Yes required. Drivers License: Yes it would be an asset, but not required. Languages: Basic English preferred but not required. Contract Conditions This position is full time working 40 hours per week. He/she must be available for ovetime as required and will receive 1.5 times more that the regular wages for any overtime worked. The employee shall be entitled to 30 minutes per day of break time and the employee is entitled to 1 day off per week. - Contract term 6-24 months. Extension/renewal of contract is possible. Subject to availability of work. - Preferred starting Date: May 01, 2008 - Probation Period: 3 months - Period of notice: One week - Salary/Wages: CDN $ 20.57 /hour - Accommodation: Can be provided, however the Employee will be respsonsible for rent that is no more than 1/3 of salary.
