Animateur Software Engineer (m/f) for Canada Slant Six Games is a videogame development studio that specializes in creating games for both the Sony PlayStation Portable and Sony PlayStation3 next generation console. Located just steps from Granville Island in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, we are a highly experienced team offering opportunities to practice the art of video game development in a non-corporate office. Responsibilities: The Animation Software Engineer is responsible for maintaining and developing Slant Sixs proprietary character animation tools. Applicants profile A successful performer in this role will: - Demonstrate proficiency in animation runtime techniques, and implementing a runtime animation system - Have previous experience working with at least one of: Physics, AI, Character control - Have previous experience in at least one of: Havoc, C#, Perl, Python, data message pipeline - Demonstrated strong C++, debugging and organization skills - Preferably have strong math skills and experience in Maya and/or Motion Builder - Preferably have assembler programming experience - Preferably have experience optimizing code, ideally for PS3 - Possess strong organization and self-scheduling skills - Communicate effectively at all levels - Possess strong interpersonal skills Education and Experience: - Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience - 4+ years of game development experience. - 2+ shipped titles Job description Key contribution areas: - Developing new systems - Maintaining existing tools - Supporting artists in their production tasks - Work closely with animators and technical users to help establish the direction for animation tools.
