JOB DESCRIPTION: Monitors/controls construction through administrative direction of on-site project personnel to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget Investigates potentially serious situations and implements corrective measures. Manages financial aspects of contracts to protect the companys interests and maintain good relationships with client. Ensures that the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Contributes as appropriate to the pre-award process of determining project scope, planning and estimating. Assists, reviews and negotiates contracts; liaises with legal counsel as appropriate in conjunction with Department Manager. Develops, recommends and implements the project plan, after being awarded the project. Selects key personnel for the project in conjunction with the Department Manager. Selects subcontractors for the project, in conjunction with the Department Manager. Coaches/mentors, provides direction, and reviews the performance of personnel reporting directly to the Project Manager. Monitors and controls progress, costs and budgets throughout the project. Advises the Department Manager on project status and results in a timely fashion. Reviews each projects progress with the project staff as the project proceeds. Acts to resolve disputes between the Company and owner, or Company and subcontractors when possible prior to Branch or Department Managers involvement. Identifies required and optional changes in project scope; negotiates change orders with the owner. Ensures that project staff understands the Companys operating policies and practices, and applies these appropriately. Maintains safety standards in all aspects of each project. APPLICANTS PROFILE: - Completion of a Mechanical, Civil or Structural engineering degree, or graduate of an engineering tech program. - Minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience - Fluent English: excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills, both verbal and written - Proficient in the use of computerized systems and project management software - Must have International Experience - Must have strong planning, leadership and team building skills CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT: * Salary:$CAN 75,000 annually * 40 hrs / week * Duration of contract: 2 years depending on the issued work permit. Extension for long term employment is possible * Two weeks paid vacation. After probation period eligible for company plan including health, life, dental, and disability.
