For the London or Hamburg office the WFC is looking for a Co-ordinator, Expert
Commission Future Finance.

Role:

The Co-ordinator facilitates the identification and promotion of best policies for a sustainable financial system in a globalised world. The Commission will be composed of WFC members and multi-disciplinary experts from around the world.


Responsibilities:

* Research best policies in the field of sustainable finance and provide expert knowledge on the topic
* Prepare and implement detailed work plans on the basis of the agreed WFC work programme and evaluate progress against agreed outcomes
* Facilitate commission exchange and organize meetings (conference calls and workshops)
* Network with relevant players in the field and produce promotion material
* Monitor international developments and organize public outreach
* Secure additional funding for a fully fledged commission
* Report to the Chair, Board of Directors


Profile:

* Academic degree in a related field (economics, political economy, political science etc)
* 3-5 years experience in a comparable research and advocacy position
* In-depth knowledge of sustainable development, finance, international affairs
* Experience working with international networks, parliamentarians and media
* Excellent English communications skills, additional languages are an asset
* Ability to work independently and as part of an international team
* Flexibility to attend occasional evening/weekend meetings and travel

The World Future Council (WFC) is a new global forum comprising 50 respected
individuals from around the world (www.worldfuturecouncil.org). It draws on our
shared human values to champion the rights of future generations, and works to
ensure that humanity acts now for a sustainable future. The World Future Council
identifies and promotes successful policies, uses existing networks and challenges
decision makers everywhere to implement legislation that leads to a sustainable and peaceful future.

The WFC offers a gross salary of approx 2300-2500 GBP (London) or 3000 Euro per month (Hamburg) depending on work experience, 25 vacation days per year and an attractive work environment as part of an international team. This position is funded for one year with the perspective of prolongation for at least two more years.
